Teen Visited U.S.S. Arizona, Interviews Veterans About Pearl Harbor

While visiting Hawaii a couple of years ago, YJI reporter Beth Pond, then a teenager in Connecticut, visited the U.S.S. Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor and interviewed veterans there about the attack that drew the United States into World War II. Beth took the photo at right at the memorial, and others, too.

Harboring memories of 'day of infamy'

Each generation has its defining moment, that one day in history where something so memorable happened that one remembers where he or she was when he or she heard about it.
For our generation, it was the September 11th attacks. For others, it was the day President Kennedy got shot, and for the generation prior to that, it was Pearl Harbor.
